About Us

Emerald Isle Realty in North Carolina, was established in 1962 by Mildred Batten Simmons and her husband Clarence who fell in love with Emerald Isle. Now, three generations of family members have experienced the change from reservations being kept on index cards and reservation boards on office walls, to computer network integration. Over the decades the family of Emerald Isle Realty is still hands-on owner/managers ensuring a first class vacation experience for rental guests, top drawer property management services for homeowners, as well as being cheerleaders for top producing sales team members.

The family is grateful to be living the American dream -- being part of a thriving family business. They are especially appreciative of rental guests and homeowners for believing in the Emerald Isle Realty family and being important players in the family story. They take great joy in the visits from third and fourth generation families that began staying with Emerald Isle Realty in the 1960s. Many of those first families became island homeowners themselves, hooked just like Mildred.
