Sound of Freedom Golf Course

This Cherry Point golf course offers a unique golf experience on the North Carolina coast. Because it's located at an active military installation - the Marine Corps Air Station near Havelock, North Carolina - the Sound of Freedom Golf Course is notable for its lack of houses and other residences along the course.

The Sound of Freedom Golf Course overlooks the Neuse River and features a par-72, 18-hole layout that measures more than 6,600 yards from the blue tees. Highlights of the Cherry Point course include a pro shop, a snack bar, PGA instruction, a chipping area, a putting green and a driving range that's open round-the-clock. Although it is a military golf course, the Sound of Freedom Golf Course at Cherry Point is open to the public.

The home of Sound of Freedom Golf Course, MCAS Cherry Point, is also home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. Visitors to the Sound of Freedom Golf Course may hear the sounds of Marine Corps aircraft flying overhead.
