Known as the Friendly City by the Sea, Swansboro is a charming waterfront town situated west of Emerald Isle along the White Oak River and Intracoastal Waterway. Home to many unique shops and tasty restaurants, Swansboro offers a nice blend of Southern Hospitality and small town history. The originator of the Annual Mullet Festival which is hosted the 2nd weekend of October, this festival is a tradition amongst the Swansboro community. Enjoy an evening of boats and candlelight at the annual Christmas Flotilla the first Friday after Thanksgiving. As a thriving town on the Crystal Coast, Swansboro has been able to retain the quaint charm and quiet character of a picturesque colonial port, while developing its successful fishing and tourist industries.
