The Morehead City Sesquicentennial Celebration cookbook, titled

A Little Taste of Heaven Since 1857: The Morehead City Heritage Cookbook, was awarded the national first-place winner of the 19^th annual Tabasco Community Cookbook Awards.  This national award recognizes the best of thousands of cookbooks published annually to raise money for charitable causes.

Jennifer Allen of the News-Times states, “In the press release announcing the award, it said the ’wonderful photos and illustrations’ only added to the judges unanimous opinion that a book like this is ‘what we yearn for-a true piece of local book-making.’”

Pack up some art supplies (if you have them) and come on down to the beach.

If you don’t have art supplies, don’t worry-there will be lots at the Boat House. 

Why is this brush shaped so?”   “What kind of paper is this?”   “How many shades of blue can there be?”  Sue Sneddon will answer these questions and more.  

Sue will help you explore a variety of media for painting and drawing-

Pencil, Pen and Ink, Charcoal, Pastel, Oil Pastel, Watercolor, Gouache and Acrylic (Not enough time to delve into the world of oil painting). 

Leader:  Sue Sneddon has been a full-time painter since 1984.  Sue lives at the coast and much of her work has concentrated on the ocean.

Cost:   Workshop $300 

Housing available at the Boat House.  $100 for shared room, $200 for a single.

Meals will be a joint effort.
