From the late 1970's to the mid 1990's our family vacationed at Emerald Isle many times because of the quiet nature of this area. We have not been as a family since 1999. In the beginning, we had small children who are now adults and starting their own families. We loved it then and love it now. We come to the beach just "for the beach" and to be with each other and Emerald Isle is perfect for us. We were also glad to see that even some new growth has taken place. It is still a calm, serene, restful place.

It is a wonderful family vacation spot for young families. We like that it isn't overly commercialized. There is plenty to do, ex. go carts, putt, putt, restaurants, without the overcrowding.
