The Nautical Club is a lifestyle community that is being developed by J. Marvin Shearin II of Rocky Mount, N.C. Born and raised in Halifax County, N.C. Shearin has been in the development business for 21 years. With many developments under his belt, the opportunity to develop The Nautical Club became available. Located in one of the best coastal regions in the country, the development lends itself to the warm sandy beaches with mild temperatures throughout the year. This certainly makes the Nautical Club a desirable location.

"One of the most unique parts in the planning process of The Nautical Club was remembering the many condos that I have stayed in over the years", says Shearin. This experience certainly has helped design the very best floor plan possible. "I can remember saying many times that I would change this, or make this bigger, or leave this out". With a wife and two children ages 12 and 9, many notes have been taken over the years of our travel to help design a unit that is conducive to a comfortable lifestyle, while not giving up one inch of family oriented environment. My main goal is to have a family oriented development that is not commercialized, that the whole family can enjoy. The units themselves will be constructed of concrete and steel. There will be three 7 story buildings on the sound side and one 7 story building on the ocean side. The construction on the Sound side is slated to begin the first of May 2006 with a completion date of May - June 2007. The Ocean side is projected to begin late fall 2006 or early 2007.

The 1,590 square foot spacious three bedroom, three bath units will come complete with designer appliances, solid surface counter tops, ceramic tile floors, upgraded quality carpets, walk-in closets, and wireless internet access in all common spaces (including pool side).

The Nautical Club will also offer outside decks with exceptional views, including both the sound and the ocean. The sound side units will have their own private beach access which is only a very short walk to the beach. In addition to the private access, you will be able to store your beach chairs and accessories in your own private locker located on the beach side. This will eliminate the hassles of having to carry your accessories back and forth from the sound side to the beach. The sound side owners will be able to enjoy our Nautical Club designer pool by the sea, as well as the Nautical Club bath and pool house that will be located for the convenience of both the sound and ocean side property owners.

Each unit of The Nautical Club, in addition to its exceptional views of the sound and sea, will have an awesome courtyard view of the Designer pool. In addition, the pool will have over 3,000 square feet of pool area accompanied by its own island and lazy river which will travel under a bridge, by the palm trees and a flower garden. There will also be a water slide and a pool for the kiddies. On the East side of the pool area, there will be a 15 person hot tub grotto. It will be tucked away and surrounded by tall landscape berms for your most private and intimate settings. A bath and pool house will also be available at pool side for the convenience of changing. From Mom's luxury condo, she can watch the kids swim in the pool while dad is out fishing.

The club house of The Nautical Club will be located on the 8th floor and will be accessible by elevators. The club house will be the only unit located on the top floor, and will have one of the most spectacular views of any development on the Coast. It is believed that from the club house, the eye could see from one end of the island to the other. The club house will come complete with a large multi purpose room, service bar, warming kitchen, media / recreation room, quiet reading room, and fitness center. This will truly be the one of the highlights of The Nautical Club Resort.

The Nautical Club complex will complement itself with elevators located conveniently throughout the development. It will also offer ground floor covered parking, grilling areas, boat ramp on site with access to Bogue Sound, walking trails for the exercise enthusiasts, putting greens for the golf enthusiasts, limited number of boat docks, and a private gated entrance.
