Planning Beach Weddings & Events

Few events are as romantic as a Southern Outer Banks wedding. Exchange vows as you stand on the warmth of the sand, dance under the stars, and celebrate your special day with your dearest loved ones. We have welcomed guests since 1962 and our expertise is second to none. From rehearsal and ceremony, to accommodations and reception planning, we'll make your event a memory that will last forever.

Southern Outer Banks Wedding & Event Home Policies & Requirements

• A refundable security deposit of $500-$1000 is required when a property is rented for any wedding and event home.
• Event service attendants are required for groups of thirty or more during the event for a fee of $250.
• A $250 event fee is required for all wedding and event homes.
• Planning packages can be secured with a $250 non-refundable deposit; packages must be paid in full sixty days prior to the event/wedding date.

Guidelines for Planning Beach Weddings or Events

• It is mandatory that you speak with the events director prior to securing an event home. Only homes on the wedding friendly homes listing are available for events.
• Please be sure to review the wedding friendly homes listing to find a wedding home suitable for the number of guests you are expecting to attend. The number of guests allowed has been determined based on the overall set up of the property. Our events director will be happy to make suggestions based on your vision of the event.
• Security deposits ranging from $500-$1000 are required for all wedding and event properties. Security deposits are returned within fifteen to forty-five days of your departure date and will be withheld for damage done to the property due to the event.
• A $250 Event Fee is required on all event homes.
• Although it's not required, we prefer for you to use Island Essentials Tent and Event rentals for all of your equipment needs.
• Homes that offer pool areas do not allow glass in the pool deck space.
• We do not suggest parking on the lawn at any property that may have an irrigation system.
• Glass and open fire is prohibited on the sandy beaches of Emerald Isle.
• Tents and rental equipment must be removed from the beach strand by seven o'clock in the evening.
• Emerald Isle is a sea turtle sanctuary. Please be cautious of nesting areas when planning for your event.
• Event services attendants are required to be at all events expecting thirty or more guests. The attendants’ fee is $250. A detailed description of their duties can be provided upon request.
• Indoor and outdoor furniture that is moved must be returned to its original location upon departure.
• Emerald Isle Realty requires all rental equipment to be removed from the premises upon your departure in consideration of the next rental guest. Just contact the friendly folks at Island Essentials Events and Tents who offer free weekend pick up along with a nice selection of equipment for your rental needs.
• Although it's not required (for most properties) it is suggested you consider investing in one of our premier wedding packages to ensure your special day is as magical and stress free as possible.
• Since parking is limited at most properties, special permission can be obtained from the Emerald Isle Police Department, (252) 354-2021, so that your guests may be able to park along one side of the street adjacent to the home. Just be sure not to block driveways or emergency vehicle paths. A parking attendant is suggested to be sure guests are parking on one side of the street and not blocking the surrounding neighbors’ access to their home.
• The town of Emerald Isle's noise ordinance is eleven o'clock in the evening. Please be conscientious when selecting an entertainment style if your wedding home is located in a residential area, as most are. A conversational tone should be maintained during your event to keep guests and neighbors happy.
• Public boardwalks and accesses may be used for weddings without a permit from the town of Emerald Isle.
• Marriage licenses can be obtained in any county in North Carolina within sixty days of your wedding date. Locally, you can obtain the license at the Carteret County Register of Deeds in Beaufort, North Carolina (approximately forty minutes from Emerald Isle).
• You are responsible for charges that may stem from excessive post event trash, clean up and furniture rearrangement.
