The town of Emerald Isle is pleased to dedicate the new Senator Jean Preston Memorial Park. The dedication of the newly built park was on May 25th 2016, which would have been the late Senator’s 81st birthday.
Jean Preston was a dedicated public servant who was committed to children, education, and Emerald Isle. She served in the NC House and NC Senate for 20 years until her retirement in 2012. The town of Emerald Isle is proud to build this new area for everyone to enjoy in her honor.
The park is located at 6800 Emerald Drive, conveniently adjacent to Emerald Isle public boating access area. It’s the perfect way to burn off any extra energy your children may have after a day on the boat. The large playground is ideal for a wonderful family outing away from the beach, but still close enough to have the breeze from the ocean wash over you.
The park is located by many fabulous restaurants including, The Village Market and Flipperz Family Bar & Grill, making it easy to grab a bite to eat afterwards. The park is also the perfect place to take in the brilliant sunsets all while your children enjoy the playscape. With the sound of the waves and children’s laughter washing away the stresses of everyday life.
