For reservations 30 days or more in advance, personal checks are preferred and must be received within 3 days. Final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. For reservations less than 30 days before arrival, immediate payment in full is required by American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or certified funds within 7 days. All payments must be in US funds.

If you cancel your reservation, all money paid will be forfeited unless the home is re-rented for the entire cancelled period at the original rental amount. If re-rented at the original amount, you’ll receive a refund less a $250 cancellation fee and travel insurance premium. If re-rented at a lower amount, your refund is decreased by the difference plus the $125 cancellation fee and insurance premium.

Yes. Emerald Isle Realty offers Red Sky travel insurance to every guest. Red Sky is authorized by the North Carolina Department of Insurance. Insurance is optional but strongly recommended. North Carolina sales tax is 6.75% and Carteret County occupancy tax is 6%, for a total tax of 12.75%. This applies to all rentals of 90 days or less. Emerald Isle Realty has no reservation fees or security deposits and offers the complimentary No Worries Protection Program.

Popular weeks, especially summer holidays and peak season dates, book quickly and often fill up months in advance. For the best selection of properties, book as early as possible. Many families reserve their Same Time Same Place for the following year during their current stay. Last-minute availability may exist for nightly rentals and off-season dates.

In the event of a mandatory evacuation ordered by local authorities, guests must evacuate immediately. Emerald Isle Realty strongly recommends purchasing Red Sky travel insurance to protect your investment. Without travel insurance, no refunds will be made for mandatory evacuations. If a hurricane is named after you purchase insurance, that storm is covered.

Strictly enforced beach regulations include: no climbing, walking, or playing on sand dunes; remove all tents, canopies, chairs, and toys from the beach strand nightly; fill in any holes deeper than 12 inches before leaving the beach; no overnight camping on the beach strand; do not touch, disturb, or go near marked sea turtle nests (Emerald Isle is a designated sea turtle sanctuary); pets must be leashed at all times on the beach; no glass containers on the beach; and a valid North Carolina fishing license is required for ages 16+. Some properties offer wheelchair-friendly features such as ramps, elevators, or accessible baths, although none meet full ADA standards. Features are noted in property descriptions. The Emerald Isle Fire Department provides free all-terrain beach wheelchairs, 7 days a week, for visitors and residents with special needs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Emerald Isle Realty offers many pet-friendly vacation rentals. A one-time nonrefundable pet fee will be charged per pet. The maximum number of pets and fee amount can be found in each property description. The Town of Emerald Isle strictly enforces leash and pooper scooper laws.

Smoking is not permitted unless specifically noted in the property description. Use outdoor ashtrays to prevent fires and keep beaches clean.

Check-in time is 4:00 PM or later. Occasionally, additional cleaning or maintenance may be needed until 6:00 PM. No check-in is permitted until your rental account is paid in full, including all taxes and fees.

Check in at the office located at 7501 Emerald Drive, on the corner of Emerald Drive and Black Skimmer Road. During summer months, weather permitting, enjoy convenient express drive-through service at the Tiki Hut. Have your confirmation ready upon arrival.

Upon check-in, you’ll receive 2 keys to your rental property and the appropriate number of parking passes. Condo rentals include necessary gate cards and passes. Directions to your property will be on the front of your check-in package.

Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Clean all dishes, empty the refrigerator, secure all doors and windows, and place trash in outdoor receptacles. Return all keys, parking passes, gate cards, and swim pins to the office. For early departures, use the drop box to the right of the main entrance. For summer months after 9:00 AM, weather permitting, use drive-through express check-out.

Contact the office or complete the online Lost and Found form. Found items are shipped UPS COD with a $15 handling fee. Unclaimed items are donated after 30 days.

Emerald Isle Realty has an excellent in-house Maintenance Department. For maintenance concerns, call (866) 586-6980. For housekeeping concerns or special requests, call immediately upon arrival. Housekeeping service is available daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

For after-hours maintenance, housekeeping, linen emergencies, or key lockouts, call (866) 586-6980 and leave a voicemail. Night duty personnel will be paged with an average response time of 30 minutes or less. A $25 fee will be charged for after-hours key lockouts.

Yes. Emerald Isle Realty partners with Island Essentials for beach gear rentals including beach chairs, chaise loungers, and umbrellas. Delivery and pickup to your vacation home is always free. Rentals are available on a weekly basis. Call ahead for summer availability.
