The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum is located on Harker’s Island, about an hour from Emerald Isle. You’ll find exhibits on the communities of what the museum calls “Down East” that feature duck decoys, publications, photographs, heirlooms and other community artifacts that tell the story of this unique area.
This museum is a welcome center to visitors, students, writers and artists from near and far who desire to learn more about the area. Come enjoy the traditions of the past and how they are honored.
Visit in December and participate in the Core Sound Museum’s Waterfowl Weekend to experience local delicacies, art and ambiance.
