Beach Communities of the Crystal Coast & Southern Outer Banks
A large portion of the 85 miles of coastline that makeup the Crystal Coast in North Carolina is made up of a variety of area communities, each offering its own unique flair. Atlantic Beach is known for its Civil War History, while Beaufort, being the third oldest town in North Carolina, is known for its history and culture.
With more than 2,000 sunken war time ships off the North Carolina coast, diving and fishing are favorite past times. With the Gulf Stream waters which move up in this area and the long Atlantic fishing season, Morehead City is the perfect host for one of the largest Marlin fishing tournaments in the world.
